Fireworks in Old Town July 4

The Florence Area Chamber of Commerce is again hosting a fireworks display Wednesday at dusk at the Port of Siuslaw. Earlier in the day, everyone is invited to a free old-fashioned pie-eating and watermelon contest at Gazebo Park in Old Town.

Contestants can pre-register at Splash on Bay Street until contest time, which is 1 p.m. Categories range in age groups from up to 5 years old, 6 to 9 years old, 10 to 14 years old, 15 to 18 years old, and adults.
