SALEM — At its November 2012 annual meeting, the Oregon Rural Electric Cooperative Association (ORECA) honored House Co-Speaker Arnie Roblan (D– Dist. 9) with the Cooperator of the Year award. Roblan was selected because of his leadership and spirit of bipartisanship as co-speaker of an evenly divided House during the 2011–2012 legislative session.
ORECA recognizes Co-Speaker Roblan’s “extraordinary achievements in public service, consensus building and forging collaborative solutions to critical issues facing Oregon,” said Ted Case, ORECA executive director.
Roger Meader, manager of Coos-Curry Electric Co-op in Port Orford, presented the award and praised Roblan for his “accessibility and common-sense approach to energy policy.”
