Art and exercise seem disparate concepts, but the two have merged in a local event called Art with Heart, organized to raise funds to upgrade equipment at PeaceHealth’s cardiopulmonary rehabilitation facility in Florence, which moved in December from a spot near the hospital’s imaging department to across campus in a larger space.
Claudia Ignatieff, president of Pacific Shores Community of Artisans (PSCA), organizers of the event, said the group was inspired to help the facility by one of its artist members, Pat Ryle of Florence.
“She told us she had an amazing experience there, so when we learned they could use our help, we wanted to do something,” said Ignatieff.
