The Florence Area Chamber of Commerce has announced it will host a logo contest for the 106th Rhododendron Festival.
Professional and amateur graphic designers of all ages and from across the state are invited to submit logo designs by emailing them to cal@florence chamber.com by Monday, March 4, at 5 p.m., for consideration.
The winning design will be printed on official festival T-shirts, commemorative pins, banners, advertisements and print guides.
The grand-prize winner will receive $250, a framed festival poster, two complimentary festival T-shirts and two tickets to the carnival. He or she will also earn mention in festival publicity.
“We’re looking for fun, original designs that capture the energy of the festival and celebrate our community,” said chamber board member Jenna Bartlett.
A full list of rules is available at www.florence chamber.com.
Logos must incorporate the Rhododendron flower, elements of Florence, and the text “Come See What We See!,” “106th” and “Rhododendron Festival.”
Designs may incorporate up to five colors.
