Dunes City Councilor Troy Sathe surprised the council Thursday night at its regular meeting by announcing he was resigning his council seat, which expires in January 2015.
“This is going to be my last meeting and there are places I need to be besides Dunes City,” said Sathe, whose fiancee lives in Albany, where he plans to relocate.
Sathe said yesterday that he has tried to make the transition as “smooth as possible” and had not taken on any committee chairmanships this year in anticipation of leaving.
