Nearly 50 young actors with the Children’s Repertory of Oregon Workshops (CROW) will perform in Meredith Willson’s classic musical, “The Music Man Jr.,” April 12 through 14.

For curious folks, the “Jr.” in the title simply means that some of the songs and dances have been shortened a bit to adapt for the younger cast members and for audience enjoyment.

CROW’s “telegrammers” will once again be selling telegrams (messages that the audience can send back to any cast/crew member they choose) and sharing songs and dances between the acts. In addition, CROW is planning several surprises during intermission, including a sundae bar featuring BJ’s Ice Cream.

The performance will be full of dancing, singing and family-friendly fun.

When “The Music Man” first opened on Broadway in 1957, few could have guessed that it was destined to become an icon of the American stage and screen.
