Mapleton student to attend Bach Festival symposium

Posted: Friday, Jun 21st, 2013

Jesse Reeves
Jesse Reeves, a sophomore at Mapleton High School, has been accepted as the youngest composer ever to win a place at the Oregon Bach Festival Composer Symposium.

Reeves, who is 16, will be a resident composition student at the University of Oregon for the duration of the two-week music festival, June 28 to July 8.

This will be a chance for him to learn in a professional setting, compose a piece that will be presented at the festival, then bring back his additional skills to the Florence area.

Reeves needs sponsorships for this great opportunity to help pay for his tuition and housing costs. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated and would also serve as a way to help the arts flourish in the community.

Donations are being accepted at Oregon Pacific Bank for the “Jesse Reeves Oregon Bach Fest savings account.”
