Five distinctive gardens will entertain visitors on Sunday when the Florence Area Humane Society hosts its annual Tour of Gardens, which will feature five gardens, each with its own charm.

The tour is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $12 and on sale at Raining Cats and Dogs and On Your Feet with A Splash on Bay Street, as well as at Mary Annís Natural Pet, 1541 Highway 101, the FAHS Shelter, 2840 Rhododendron Drive, Laurel Bay Gardens, 88493 Highway 101 North, and at each garden on the day of the tour. A driving guide is available at the ticket sellers.

North of town with an ocean view in the Klahanee community is the garden of Ted Braatz and Richard Sayre, a multi-level wonderland of lush green, vibrant blooms and water trickling down the rocks at every turn.

Visitors may view the entire garden from a deck and the more adventurous may traverse the steps up and down the many garden levels with several cozy seating areas.

Colin Jamieson is hooked on trains and will share his delightful Garden of Trains with tiny trees, flowers and shrubs adorning the trainís countryside. Jamiesonís interest in trains stems from his involvement in helping build the Nevada, California and Oregon Railway Museum in Alturas, Calif.
