On Saturday, Nov. 23, hundreds of people passed through Grocery Outlet, where Cindy Wobbe and a team of volunteers set up a collection center for Wobbe’s annual Pounding. In its 13th year, the Pounding invites residents, businesses and other organizations to contribute food to be donated to Florence Food Share, whose shelves clear quickly, especially this time of year. More than 7,200 pounds of food were collected Saturday. That will be matched in pounds by Wobbe. In addition to the hard-working volunteers, Woody Woodbury and his staff at Grocery Outlet, and Wayne Sharpe from KCST Coast Radio continued with helping hands at the food drive.
