On Sunday, July 8, the Texas 4000 bicycle team spent the night at Florence’s St. Andrews Episcopal Church.
This is the sixth year St. Andrew’s has hosted this group of students. The Texas 4000 is the longest annual charity ride in the world. Cyclists ride more than 4,500 miles each year raising money to help eliminate cancer. When the team leaves Austin, it is divided into two groups of approximately 25 riders; the Desert coastal group and the Rockie Mountain group.
