Siuslaw derails Douglas to go 6-1

Siuslaw’s Lona Dengler had nine kills against Douglas on Wednesday.

It was a sweep for Siuslaw at Douglas, but not an easy one as the Vikings edged the Trojans by a total of nine points in the match, including just a two-point advantage in each of the first two sets.

Led by seniors Adrianna Roberts and Lona Dengler, who had nine kills each, the Vikings opened with a narrow 25-23 victory, then battled to come away with a two-point win in extra points in game two, 26-24.

One game away from a sweep, Siuslaw took small, an early lead on serving from Lacey DeSantis and Chelsey Bartlett en route to a close 25-20 win to remain a game ahead of Sutherlin at 6-1.
