Vikings’ season ends; Madras moves on

The Vikings were back on their home court Saturday, hosting Madras for a chance to advance to this week’s state play-offs in Eugene.

Madras opened the match with a narrow win over the Viks. Alex Dodson tied the set at 4-4 with a kill from the outside, with both teams trading scores for the next several vollies. Lona Dengler gave Siuslaw its first lead, 10-9, only to have Madras rally back on a six-point series to take a 15-12 lead. Adrianna Roberts put the Vikings back on top twice, first at 16-14, then 18-17.
