Softball team selling oranges to raise funds

The Siuslaw High School softball is raising funds to cover the costs associated with the 2013 junior varsity and varsity softball season.

Currently, athletes are taking orders for cases of Sunkist oranges and Rio Star grapefruits for $25 a case. There are 30 oranges in a case and 18 grapefruits.

Last winter, the team was able to sell 230 cases of fruit. The target for this fall's fundraiser is 250 cases. The team recommends getting the fruit for the Christmas season as gifts or to share during the holidays.

Any businesses or family wishing to purchase fruit to then be donated to the local Food Share program will be delivered on behalf of the buyers in their name by the team.
