Siuslaw scorched by hot-shooting Red Devils

The Vikings had no answer for Coquille’s Taylor DeGeros during Thursday’s opening match-up in the three-day Les Schwab Tires South Coast Holiday Tournament at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay.

In the opening quarter, Siuslaw, which was missing two starters from its line-up, was able to keep things close, 7-9, with DeGeros scoring all nine of the Red Devils’ points — on six freethrows and a 3-pointer.

However, the remaining periods belonged the Coquille, which ended the first half on a 14-3 run, then kicked off the third quarter with back-to-back treys from DeGeros.
