With the final spot in the league play-offs on the line, Mapleton kickedthe game into high gear Friday as the Sailors hosted Crow before a packed gym. Rested after its first-round “bye” on Tuesday, Mapleton wasted no time setting the pace and getting a lock on the basket, moving ahead 24-11 by the end of the first half. A pair of freethrows from junior guard Chelsea Simington extended the Sailors’ lead to 14 points as Mapleton opened the second half and worked a 2-3 zone to keep the Cougars pacing the arc.
