Sandboarders from throughout the region gathered at Sand Master Park this past Saturday for the annual Sand Master Jam, a sandboarding competition that allows participants to display their prowess and technique in multiple events.

The jam included both pro and amature categories, as well as junior divisions for both men and women.

This year’s field included one of the jam’s longest lists of competitors, each of whom was vying for top points in style, originality and technique in order to claim the crown within a given division.

“The competition gets tougher and more exciting every year,” said Sand Master Park owner and creator Lon Beale, who hosts three sandboarding competitions each summer, beginning in June.
