LOWRY—Denton “Deke” Keith Lowry, 58, of Florence, passed away Dec. 1, 2012, at his home with his wife and family by his side.
Deke was born Aug. 15, 1954, in Springfield, and was raised in the Eugene and Springfield areas.
He graduated from South Eugene High School in 1972.
He was a cabinetmaker by trade and owned several shops in the Springfield and Bend areas through the 1980s and 1990s, creating unique window frames and doors in addition to designing and building and installing cabinets.
He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, and truly loved to salmon fish.
He also loved being a dad and grandfather, which were among his favorite things.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Boynton Lowry, of Florence; his son, Andrew Lowry of Florence; his daughter and her husband, Amy and Chris Owens; his son and his wife, Michael and Brandy Lowry; seven grandchildren; his brother, Michael, and wife Pati; his sister Janet Young; his uncle Vernon Gregg; a niece, four nephews, a great-nephew and his beloved kitties, “Hero” and “Storm.”
At his request, private cremational rites were held through Burns’s Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home.
Contributions can be made in his name to the local STEP program. These can be left at the funeral home.
