Rosetta Rosemary Carey

CAREYŚRosetta Rosemary Carey, 82, previously of Mapleton, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 12, 2013.

She was born July 18, 1930, to Joseph and Agnes Hyzer in Mill City, Ore. Rosemary and Wilson Carey were married in 1947, and had been married 61 years when he preceded her in death in 2009.

They both grew up in Brownsville and moved to Florence, then Mapleton, where they lived until they retired in 1988, after which they moved to Terre-bonne, Ore.

Rosemary returned to Eugene in 2011.

She was a homemaker and wonderful wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. She has two sons: Grant Carey of North Platte, Neb., and Eugene Carey of Mapleton. She also has two sisters: Beveraly Nulf of Coquille, Ore., and Opal Key of Mansfield, Ark.; two grandchildren: Christopher Carey of Onalaska, Wis., and Candace Carey of Beaverton, Ore.; and one great-grandson, Deric Carey of Onalaska, Wis.

Rosemary was a member of both the Mapleton Evangelical Church and the Life Bible Church in Harrisburg. She loved the Lord and all people.

A celebration of life will be held at the Mapleton Evangelical Church on Jan. 26, beginning at 1 p.m.
