WATTS—A celebration of life for Michael John Watts, 57, of Winchester Bay will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Woahink Lake Park, five miles south of Florence on Highway 101.
Michael was born Jan. 15, 1956, in Phoenix, Ariz., to John Charles and Mary Joyce Lambright Watts. He passed away May 25, 2013, at Lower Umpqua Hospital following a heart attack.
He was raised and educated in the Westlake community and attended Siuslaw schools, growing up in Florence. Mike worked for Reinard Pollman in construction and maintenance. He was also business partners with Larry McGraw in Pacific Concepts Construction.
Among his personal interests, Mike loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and going out on the boat. He liked to go mush-
room hunting and was a rock
Mike was always busy spending time with his family and friends going to the beach and out on the sand dunes. His hobbies included throwing horseshoes, hitting golf balls in the yard and raising a couple critters.
Michael is survived by his two sons, Truitt John Watts “TJ” of Pendleton and Charles John Watts “Slim” of Springfield; grandson, Jonathan Watts, of Springfield; companion, Stacy Morris of Winchester Bay; friend and ex-wife, Laurie Woodworth Watts of Westlake; two brothers, Rick Watts and Jack Watts; three sisters, Delta Watts, LeAnne and husband John Farrar of Sumner, Wash., and Vicky Watts of Westlake; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services are entrusted to Dunes Memorial Chapel in Reedsport.
Rasmussen—Kathleen Rasmussen, 66, of Florence, passed away June 15, 2013.
Burns’s Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
