Retiring Old Glory

American Legion Post 59 conducted its annual flag retirement ceremony on Flag Day, June 14, laying to rest more than 150 flags across from the Veteran’s Memorial Park on Bay Street. VFW Post 3232 and DAV Chapter 23 also participated in the burning ceremony, with Siuslaw Valley Fire and Rescue personnel on hand to help control the fires.
