Will work for fireworks

Mike Rose, left, CEO of Three Rivers Casino and Hotel, was spotted washing tires early Sunday morning as he and other Chamber of Commerce board members scrubbed cars to raise money to buy fireworks for the local Fourth of July celebration. The event was held in the Florence Elks Lodge No. 1858 parking lot. Below, a grandfather receives a hug from his granddaughter inside the lodge, where the Elks, Chamber and Siuslaw Valley Fire and Rescue held a Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast, also benefiting the fireworks fund. According to Cal Applebee, chamber director, the event raised $1,200. The fundraising goal is $4,000.
