Some people have said that books, like newspapers, are passť. Itís all about the Internet. Solid proof otherwise ó that the art of writing and publishing books is far from dead ó was evident Saturday, Sept. 29, at the second annual Book Fair.

About 75 authors and six publishers filled the Florence Events Center, displaying their books, sharing their personal stories and how they came to put it all down in print, and drawing hundreds of interested visitors, including fledging writers and avid readers.

A team of volunteers organized, set up and hosted the free event.

Initial evaluations by participants indicate the event was a hit and Florence can look forward to the third annual Book Fair next fall.
