Dems, incumbents hold on to state gov

Of the county’s 214,259 registered voters, almost three-quarters of them turned in ballots for the 2012 General Election. Although complete local election results will not be finalized for a few days because of the number of write-ins, at the state level Democrats kept a majority in the Senate and will take back a majority in the House.

Barack Obama and Joseph Biden return to the White House for another four years. Peter DeFazio returns to the Senate for an unprecedented 14th term. (DeFazio earned almost 67 percent of the vote in Lane County.)
