Thompson signs on with Oregon State University

Viking and Sandblasters’ starting pitcher Jacob Thompson will play for the Beavers on a full scholarship beginning next fall.

Playing Division-1 baseball has always been one of Siuslaw senior Jacob Thompson’s goals. On Thursday, Thompson was able to put a check mark next to that goal after first offering up his signiature on a Letter of Intent to play for Oregon State University next year.

“Playing in the PAC 12 for one of the best baseball programs in the country is a dream come true,” said Thompson, who will attend OSU next fall on a full scholarship to play for the two-time national championship and College World Series winning Beavers.
