Officials to break ground next week for new wayside

The City of Florence invites citizens to a groundbreaking for the Siuslaw River Bridge Interpretive Center on Thursday, Nov. 29, at 9 a.m. Florence dignitaries, city and Oregon Department of Transportation staff and project engineers will be at the former Barnett property on Bay Street next to Siuslaw River Coffee Roasters on Bay Street in Old Town to celebrate this important milestone in the project.

Once completed, the interpretive center will provide a picturesque wayside for tourists, travelers and residents to enjoy the scenic splendor of the historic Siuslaw River Bridge and surrounding area.
