Historic Old Town Florence is gearing up once again for the annual Florence Holiday Festival in Old Town today with the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus for a traditional Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Gazebo Park on Bay Street.
Festivities begin at dusk, or approximately 4:30 p.m.
A number of activities are scheduled over the following weekends to keep holiday shoppers in a festive spirit.
On Saturday, Dec. 8, a Cookie Tasting contest will be held, allowing shoppers to sample treats at participating merchants throughout Old Town. Visitors can find treats all day during store hours.
