Siuslaw picked up its second win of the preseason Thursday night, hosting Junction City to a high-paced match-up that had the Vikings leading during all four quarters.

“It was a great game for us,” said coach Jack Butler. “We’re looking forward to seeing what we can do against Wilsonville.”

Against the Tigers, Siuslaw had two players post double-digit scoring, with senior center Jake Thompson scoring 17 points, and junior guard Sam Johnson nabbing 15 points. All told, seven players contributed to the scoreboard for the Vikings, demonstrating the team’s ability to score from a variety of spots on the floor, something that was particularly perplexing for the Tigers.

Key to the Viks’ offense was junior Mitchell Butler, who was able to feed the ball inside and on the fastbreak with 11 assists on Thursday. Butler also posted three points for Siuslaw.
