Florence Police are warning business owners to keep a watchful eye on cash customers.
FPD Lt. John Pitcher said he has received reports of seven one-hundred-dollars being passed in town. Shopowners did not detect the counterfeit bills until they were notified by their banks.
Pitcher said cashiers should double check all $100 bills. The fake bills are printed on a fair quality of paper, but the bills' backside watermarks are inaccurate, and although there is a strip on the bill, it is not embedded in the paper.
Anyone with additional information or concerns should call the Florence Police Department, 541-997-3515.
