Police investigate marijuana grower

The Florence Police Department is investigating Mark L. Stanchfield, 61, of Florence, for unlawful possession and delivery of marijuana.

On Saturday, Dec. 8, officers discovered that Stanchfield, who holds an Oregon medical marijuana card that allows him to have six mature plants and 18 immature plants, had a total of 99 marijuana plants in his home. Stanchfield’s residence is not a registered medical marijuana grow location.

Officers seized the marijuana plants and other evidence of the operation.

Stanchfield was released and the case has been referred to the Lane County District Attorney’s office.
