Del Reavis, a 1983 graduate of Siuslaw High School who contributed to the Vikings athletics program as both a player and long-time assistant and JV football coach, passed away at the age of 47 on Dec. 26, after a long battle with cancer.
A familiar figure along the sidelines to fans and players alike, Reavis was a member of the coaching staff for the 2006 state championship team and continued to coach through this past fall, when the Vikings advanced to the second round of state 4A play-offs.
