Siuslaw’s wrestling team brought only six grapplers to the mats at the 16-team Willamette Invitational on Saturday, but came back near the middle of the pack in 10th place.
“We had a very respectable showing,” Siuslaw coach Neil Wartnik said of his team’s performance. “The event featured many strong wrestlers from the area, so to finish 10th was impressive.”
Of the six wrestlers competing for the Vikings, four eventually placed at the tournament, with sophomore Luke Carroll winning his first two matches to advance to the finals round at 152 lbs.For the complete article see the 01-02-2013 issue.
