Viks down Douglas, pick up Far West win

Siuslaw junior Sam Johnson nabbed five steals and scored 14 points against the Trojans.

Siuslaw picked up a road win and its first league victory Friday against Douglas, with Sam Johnson, Jake Thompson and Ryan Smith each scoring double figures to secure a narrow 59-50 win against the Trojans (0-2).

The win, which followed a season-opening loss to North Bend at the beginning of last week, came late in the game thanks to steals from Johnson, who ended the night with five.
