Edith Erika Eberle

Modified: Friday, Feb 1st, 2013

EBERLE—Edith Erika Eberle, 85, of Florence, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 28, 2013.

She was born in Kiel, Germany, on Oct. 6, 1927, to the late Fritz and Erna Bielenberg.

She was married to Sigmund Richard Eberle on April 11, 1950.

While in Kiel, she worked as a legal secretary for the ship builders union.

In 1956, she immigrated by cruise ship to Australia with her husband and their three small children. In the 12 years she spent in Australia, she had many great adventures and another child.

In 1968, she immigrated, again by cruise ship, to Los Angeles, Calif., with her husband and their four children.

After her husband retired in 1992, she relocated to Florence, where she has enjoyed the last 20 years of her life exploring the beauty of Oregon hand-in-hand with her love, constant companion, best friend and husband, Sigmund.

Edith is survived by her husband, Sigismund Richard Eberle; her four children: Reiner Sigmund Eberle, Silke Edith Hayward, Elke Eberle Dodd and Dirk Michael Eberle; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Eugene Mission.

A celebration of her beautiful life will be held at the family home in Florence on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m.
