Digging into Dungeness

Mountains of crab were consumed last weekend at the Second Annual Crab Crack. Organizers are already gearing up for next year’s event.

Florence Events Center was alive with a crowd of happy people enjoying a spectacular meal at the Second Annual Florence Crab Crack on Saturday, Feb. 2.

Those attending tasted fresh crab, sumptuous pasta, coleslaw, garlic bread and, of course, the piéce de resistance, BJ’s ice cream parfaits.

The ambiance of the room was beautiful in black, white and red with crabs everywhere, including the beautiful giant, accurately detailed crab in the foyer.

Everyone was happy and enjoyed each other’s company. The many happy winners of the silent auction items took home such prizes as gorgeous gift baskets, beautiful pieces of art, Apex Helicopter rides and a Three Rivers Casino gift certificate.
