Old Town has become a veritable construction zone. Some of the most visible work began with excavation on Bay Street at the site of the new interpretive site planned for the property between Waterfront Depot and Siuslaw Coffee Roasters and a lot below the Siuslaw River Bridge. Not to mention the pounding changes going on to the docks around Mo’s Restaurant at Bay and Maple streets. Or, at the outset of major changes, streets surrounding Old Town where new pipelines have been installed and the streets are still torn up.
These major projects mean long-term improvements for the area, and so far, even though many business owners are concerned, access to Old Town remains open and there seems to be plenty of parking for shoppers and diners.
