Dr. Ulman dies at 85

Dick Ulman, M.D.

Richard W. Ulman, M.D., passed away Feb. 21, 2013, in Florence at the Regency convalescent home. He was 85.

Dick was born March 7, 1927, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Joseph and Belle Ulman. He grew up in Sioux City where he attended Morningside College and then went on the University of Iowa Medical School in Iowa City, Iowa.

He met his wife, Arlis Dexter, during his internship at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Wash. The happy couple moved to Florence in 1955 where they practiced medicine for more than 36 years.
