The Sailors opened their track and field season on Thursday, hosting eight teams for the annual Mapleton 300, a 3/4-style invitational that showcases the school’s unique track configuration, which was designed to highlight events such as the 1200-meter race and three-person relay. Mapleton sophomore Tucker Ford (top) and senior Taysie Savage (left), who ran splits in the short relays, were also among those competing for the Sailors in the jumps. Mapleton will be back on the track March 23, when the Sailors will travel to Oakridge for the Oakridge Relays.
