Four gun safety bills were taken to the Senate Judiciary Committee for public hearings yesterday, April 5, in Salem, according to Sen. Floyd Prozanski (D-Eugene), who also serves Florence as the city’s prosecuting attorney.
The legislation package is a response to the recent public outcry for increased protection in our communities.
“We can respect the second amendment while taking action to keep guns out of the hands of those who are irresponsible and law-breaking,” said Prozanski. “Keeping our communities and our children safe is a top priority that everyone can get behind. These bills are based on common sense and take reasonable steps to make Oregon safer while protecting civil liberties.”For the complete article see the 04-06-2013 issue.
