ENGLEWOOD, COLO., and VANCOUVER, WASH. — Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and PeaceHealth agreed last week to suspend discussions about forming a unified, integrated regional health system in the Pacific Northwest.
The two health systems signed a nonbinding agreement last August to create a partnership that would allow both organizations to strengthen and extend their healing ministries.
CHI and PeaceHealth were unable to develop a model that would provide the desired benefits and serve the best interests of both organizations, according to a written statement issued April 3. CHI and PeaceHealth will continue to explore other opportunities to work together to strengthen their respective ministries in the Northwest. For the complete article see the 04-06-2013 issue.
