Police arrest suspect in recent burglaries

Florence police have arrested a local man as the prime suspect in a string of recent burglaries.

Ryan James Aho, 39, of Florence, was stopped May 9 by police for a traffic violation. The officer found stolen property identified from recent burglaries and thefts as well as burglar tools that police say matched those used to break into local businesses.

Evidence obtained ties Aho to crimes committed at Premier Landscaping, Homegrown Pub, Restobar Restaurant, Harris Feed and Seed, Rosa’s Mexican Restaurant and Terrace Homes/ Koning and Cooper, as well as three vehicle break-ins.

Aho has been charged with five counts of second-degree burglary, six counts of second-degree criminal mischief, three counts of unlawful entry to a vehicle, one charge of first-degree theft, five counts of second-degree theft, two counts of third-degree theft and possession of burglary tools. He is being held in the Florence Jail as of press time, awaiting transport to the Lane County Jail.
