EARLE—Allen Edward Earle, 87, of North Powder, passed away at his residence on Thursday, May 30, 2013. No services are planned at this time. Loveland Funeral Chapel of LaGrande, Ore., is in charge of arrangements.
Allen was born Sept. 26, 1925, in Tillamook, Ore. His parents were Sollie Allen Earl and Faye Leone Akerley Earl. He was a lifelong resident of Florence and Reedsport. Allen attended school in Florence and at Lane Community College. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the U.S. Oracle AM 103 Minesweeper. He was honorably discharged as fireman first class, and his remains will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
On March 8, 1946, he married Patricia Marie Spencer.
Allen was a rancher, logger and truck driver. He loved his horses and horseback riding as well as hunting and fishing.
Allen is survived by his children Alana (Ron) West of North Powder; Deanna Hass of North Powder; Steven (Ronda) Earle; Michael Earle of Reedsport; his siblings Wesley Earle of Florence; sister in law Margaret Earle of Reedsport; Melvin (Lexine) Earle of Florence; Louis (Peggy) Earle of Reedsport; Patsy (Harry) Schwartz of Elkton; Wanda Gastofson of Portland; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia; parents Sollie and Faye; and two brothers Lyle and Jon Rocklin Earl.
