The Florence–Siuslaw Lions Club, in cooperation with the City of Florence and the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce, will present the fifth annual Wings and Wheels Car Show and Aircraft Fly-In today at the Florence Municipal Airport.
Gates open to the public at 10 a.m. Spectators will be asked for a $2 per-carload minimum donation, which goes to the Siuslaw High School Wrestling team.
More than 100 classic cars and trucks, hot rods, antiques and imports are expected at the show and shine. Aircraft from all over the state are expected to fly in for the event, weather permitting.
Also expected are a just-restored 1947 Stinson airplane from Cottage Grove and the Northwest Ravens, a group of eight planes from Aurora, Ore.
In addition, more than 20 groups and organizations will be participating this year. The Florence Radio Control Aircraft club will be on hand, raffling off a radio controlled aircraft and flying throughout the day.
