The Oregon State Marine Board (OSMB) approved 22 grants from around the state during its quarterly board meeting held June 25 in Salem.
For the local area, the board announced approval of a $145,000 award to the Port of Siuslaw for a Siuslaw River floating restroom; $36,250 in dedicated state boater funds and $108,750 in dedicated federal Clean Vessel Act (CVA) funds.
In March of this year, port commissioners approved proceeding with the grant for a two-stall floating restroom, trailer and anchoring system.
The restroom will be on the river near the marina. During winter the structure will be removed from the river and stored.
