Pay increase for Florence Police Department

Florence Police Department employees have received a 3 percent increase in their pay, as of July 1.

The new two-year contract that totals more than $1.5 million was approved last week during a July 15 city council meeting. After eight months of discussions with the Florence Police Employees Association, City Manager Jacque Betz said the new contract, settled for two years instead of the usual three, is covered in the city’s current budget projections and “meets the needs of the city.”
