Driver alerts

Posted: Tuesday, Jul 23rd, 2013

On Thursday, July 25, the City of Florence will be working with Lane County Public Works to stripe the city’s streets.

Be aware that this is fresh paint and takes a little time to dry, so please stay off the center and right-hand lines. If you do get paint on your vehicle, wash it immediately with hot, soapy water.

In addition to city streets, on Highway 101, south of Florence and Glenada, the Oregon Department of Transportation will be paving, laying down new asphalt from about 6 a.m. into the late afternoons, Monday through Thursday from now until Aug 1, and possibly beyond.

Six flaggers, a pilot car and signs are posted to alert and control traffic around the work zone.

Heavy traffic and work getting under way caused delays Monday.

Drivers should keep on the lookout for workers, new paint and hot asphalt.
