Honeyman Park Manager Dan Schewlakow and Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) Forester and Arborist Craig Leach spoke to a small but interested crowd Friday night at a public meeting held at the park to explain the department’s plan to thin stands of trees, primarily removing shore pines, within the park.
Schewlakow and Leach contend that the stands should be thinned to give the remaining trees more sunlight and nutrients to spur healthier growth in the future. For the complete article see the 10-02-2013 issue.
