MCCRAY—Patsy Lynn McCray, 61, of Deadwood, died Oct. 2, 2013, after a tough battle with stomach cancer.
Patsy is survived by her parents, Don Wilbur of Deadwood, and Dorothy Butorovich of Lewiston, Idaho.
She is the mother of four children: Barnaby, Bridgette, Shawn and Katie; and three pets, Rusty, Peaches and Tom; and proud grandmother of Jarrett, Jolinn, Jadyn, Ella and Holden.
She leaves us remembering her strong will, witty humor, amazing advice on cooking and gardening, and blatant opinion of things she did and did not like. Patsy was not a person to divulge in lavish things, but a Coke (no ice) and blooms in the garden put a smile on her face.
She was one of the very few women out chopping wood and running heavy equipment with the ability to get the job not only done, but right.
Patsy made sure that cutting corners and haphazard workmanship was not an option.
These are just a few qualities that made her unyielding and the hard-as-nails gal she was. Patsy spent her last years working with her father and her brother-in-law, Lee Owens, while spending every spare moments to be with family and take time with her children and grandchildren.
Patsy is the last to leave us of the Wilbur sisters, and will now join Nancy, Chris and Sally.
Patsy, along with her sisters, has filled our lives with such great moments and life experiences that we will never forget her and hold her dear to our hearts.
Burns’s Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
