An opportunity to honor and serve America by becoming a volunteer in the U. S. Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol is being offered this month in Florence. Currently more than 64,000 members nationwide are involved in aerospace education, cadet programs and emergency services through CAP.
An informational meeting about starting a new Civil Air Patrol squadron in Florence is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m. Col. John Longly, Oregon Wing Commander, will lead the discussion at the First Baptist Church, 1935 E. 25th Street.For the complete article see the 10-09-2013 issue.
