DUNES CITY — On Oct. 10 a quorum of three Dunes City councilors, Duke Wells, Maurice Sanders and Ed Scarberry, unanimously voted to adopt ordinance No. 223, which changes the city’s comprehensive plan in regard to its process for public involvement in land use issues. Councilors Jamie Mills and Richard Anderson were absent.
Said Sanders before the vote, “It was apparent this would be a difficult public policy decision, but not an impossible one.”
During public hearings held by the council and planning commission leading up to last week’s vote, two definite camps stood for and against changes to the comprehensive plan. For the complete article see the 10-16-2013 issue.
