Florence Police have confirmed that an explosive device was found in a container of items donated to the Goodwill, 1665 Highway 101.
Goodwill employees contacted the police around 4:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 20, when they were unloading the latest donations and found the device.
In addition to the FPD responding, Lane County sheriff’s deputies and Siuslaw Valley Fire and Rescue firefighters were called to the scene. The Eugene Metro Bomb Squad was also called out, which closed down the store and the area around it for a couple of hours.For the complete article see the 10-23-2013 issue.
